We are supporting four new students in 2011

Ankhijur Islam, a high madrasah student from a remote village in Pekua, Burdwan, has scored 752 out of 800 this year. His school headmaster Mohammed Hossain Mondal told us how needy his family is. Ankhijur’s father, Mr. Rejaul Karim is a small farmer with very little land to cultivate. He could not continue his studies because of his extreme financial situations and now he does not want that to happen to Ankhijur. Padakshep will make sure that Mr. Karim can fulfill his dreams about his son.

Sathi Pandit (Read more....)

Sathi Pandit has scored over 80% in the humanities group in higher secondary examinations. Her father was a labor before he became severely ill which made him almost completely bed ridden. Her mother is also very sick. Surprisingly Sathi managed to take care of both her parents and continue her studies. Her brother had to quit further studies and succumb to an uncertain daily job with very little wage. One of our volunteer visited her and reported the unthinkable suffering of her family. Padakshep will stand by with her and support her in the future undergraduate studies.

Following the newspaper report, we selected Suman Dey, a student from Sonamukhi in Bankura, who scored 707 in 2011 Madhyamik examination. We talked to the headmaster of his school Mr. Manoranjan Chongre. He told Padakshep that he is one of the most polite and sincere students he has ever seen. Suman's father is a weaver and his family helps him in his work. Padakshep will make sure that Suman can concentrate on what he likes to do, and that is pursuing his studies.

Debasis Pramanik (Read more....)

Debasis Pramanik has done excellent in his madhyamik examinations. He is probably the top scorer in madhyamik examinations from the district of Purulia in West Bengal. Son of a grocery shop owner, Debasis studied at late night

and attended their shop sometimes during the day. Debasis got admission at the Ramakrishna Mission Vidyapith, Purulia for his higher secondary studies. He hopes to become a doctor one day. Padakshep will be supporting him in his journey.
